  • M.A., Columbia University

For 15 years, Mr. Lui has been a senior associate of the Office of Technology Transfer at the Stanford Linear Accelerator Center (SLAC), a major X-ray physics, high-energy physics, and astrophysics laboratory at Stanford University. He manages research and development of new technologies required by SLAC and its collaborators to support SLAC’s various experiments, as well as inventions and software from SLAC’s faculty and staff. His pre-Stanford years saw extensive experience in systems analysis, product R&D, and marketing in diverse technologies in the nuclear, microwave, cancer-therapy, and semiconductor industries. Currently, he is interested in: 1) how university-industry engagement in Hong Kong can facilitate purposeful technology transfer; 2) continued competitiveness of technology-based centers and businesses in Hong Kong; and 3) how to bring science and technology into organizations of the Hong Kong Government.
