In 2003, Mr Chan graduated with his bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science and a minor in economics from Stanford University. He also received the Frederick E. Terman Award, given to the top 5% of graduating seniors in the School of Engineering at Stanford. During his university years, he interned at international technology companies including Oracle, IBM, and VMware (later acquired by EMC). After graduation, he joined a network storage start-up company called Neopath Networks, and then started his current career at Google as an engineer in 2004. He aspires to contribute to Hong Kong with his experience in Silicon Valley and his expertise in technology.
I was born and raised in Hong Kong. Although I currently work in the US, I consider Hong Kong my home.
From 1992 to 1998, I studied at Queen's College for my secondary school education. Growing up in a grassroot family had motivated me to study harder for a better future and my efforts were rewarded by achieving 9'A's and 1'B' in the 1997 HKCEE. In 1998, I began my university studies at Carnegie Mellon University in the US. In 2000, I transferred to Stanford University where I graduated with my bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science and a minor in economics in 2003. I also received the Frederick E. Terman Award, given to the top 5% of graduating seniors in the School of Engineering at Stanford.

In my spare time, I enjoy taking photos, reading, and watching movies and animations. Some of my favorite movies include Comrades: Almost a Love Story (1996) and In the Mood for Love (2000), and animations include Futurama and Ghost in the Shell .
I love Hong Kong and I am always passionate about discussions on her current affairs and future. I wish to devote myself to serving my community with my knowledge and experience gained from abroad.
